Immunity

It’s been 3 days now since I lost my voice. Strep that then led to laryngitis. First time I’ve had that. It’s very frustrating. My brother in law and his gf just left, after staying here for the weekend. It was nice but now my throat is even worse than before. I really don’t want to go to the doctor but I’m beginning to think more and more that I should go. I’m afraid this is turning into pneumonia.

Darn immune system.

  1. I can relate bestie, I have been sick since I left Mom’s. Started in my sinus and went to chest and vocal chords. Couple things I have learned, gargling salt water and using a Neti pot are relieving, not to use any cough drops with menthol as that will dry out your vocal chords and throat more when you want to be keeping them moist, and 3 if it feels like pneumonia, Doctor asap! Love you and hope you feel better really soon! ❤

    • I just can’t do the salt water. I’ve tried several times and I always end up throwing up. Which hurts soooo much. But the cough drops. I didn’t know that!!!!! I’ve been going around with my pockets stuffed with them. I even take them to bed with me. It’s the only thing that keeps my mouth moist. As soon as I swallow it within 3 minutes my tongue is stuck to the roof of my mouth. Medication side effects cause that. It’s not just when I’m sick. I need a good sugar free candy to keep on hand. Know of any?
P.S. I’m so glad you left me a comment on here!! Love you bestie 💞

  2. I know it is very difficult to go to the doctor, especially when you are very sick. I wish they still made house calls.

But antibiotics might do the trick, if this virus has turned into a bacterial infection. If you see any yellow, or any other color flem than clear or white, then it is bacterial.

Any white spots in the mouth or throat…or if the cough is deep…or you cannot cough up the mucus ..then go get antibiotics.

Hope you feel better soon. 💕😉🌺👭👭💙

    • My cough is getting worse. There are no white spots though. I saw a doctor and it’s all in my vocal chords. He said it looks as if I injured them in some way. But I haven’t done anything that would do that. They are swollen so much that I’m left with a very small opening for breathing. Can barely see down my throat and I’m at a high risk of is swelling shut. I’ve got an oxygen mask to use at home when breathing is hard. I just have to lay low and rest my voice until they can get me in to an ENT specialist.
      It’s horrible.
